Serious Naan

Serious Naan mania is fast sweeping Britain. Already sales are outperforming all other sectors in the serious foods market and Serious Naan are fast establishing themselves as the new heros of speciality bread. "A few years ago, it was impossible to find Serious Naan bread served fresh from the tandoor outside of the Indian restaurant or takeaway. We recognised the enormous potential early on and have worked with our beloved consumers to develop restaurant-quality Serious Naans that can be served at the consumers inconvenience", says Dr James Tresnac, CONSUME's joint managing director and Naan specialist. "We haven't stopped there. Whilst the obvious flavours take a lead from restaurants - Plain, Garlic & Coriander and Peshwari - we have developed a whole host of innovative recipe ideas, sound manipulation techniques and convenient snacking formats to take Serious Naan into the Millennium." "Naantastic" as they say!
The fantastically confused debut album by Serious Naan 'Naantrax' (CONSUME 06) is now available in takeaway format for tasting. See Consume website for details.
"Serious Naan is also a duo, this time Lonny Bashee and The Stare and is something different. Distorted, vocoded voices, piano, organ, drum machines. Sometimes inspired by The Residents, but at others maybe by ambient music, but then played with a sense of naivety (as in 'Random Dancer'). Serious Naan move around in many styles, but they have changed it, so that every track is their own and not a derivat of something else or a hotchpotch of styles. Nice stuff here, and an altogether varied release." FdW, Vital Weekly.
